Re: Ineptocracy by SolonMoreCynical, 11/26/12 12:27 AM

And some of the rich are
greedy parasites that live off the destruction of others, like Mitt and Bain, no better than a common thief (except in their dress). There are business men who innovate and create jobs (few) and there are those that copy, overcharge, underpay, and outsource. Mitt never created any jobs, he destroyed them.

The best Mitt would do is screw the poor AND THE MIDDLE AND UPPER MIDDLE CLASS OF SOLON, while serving his real constituents - billionaires!

So you silly Solon GOOPERS were willing to pay for Mitt's billionaire perks, just to see the lower class kicked in the a$$. It's typical totem pole human nature, the top kicks the middle and the middle kicks the bottom. If kicking the poor makes you feel better about getting kicked by the top, you need to have your head (morals and ethics) examined.

The Death of SolonBiker

5636. The Death of SolonBiker
by SolonHiker, 10/04/12 7:16 PM

Marymount Hospital. Internet Chat Forum Character Ward.

Cynical: Well, it’s not looking good for Biker.

SolonPol: Look at how pale he is, like he’s just fading away.

Bystander: Hey, Biker, get with it!!!! Where does it hurt??

Biker: Well, my foot feels kind of weird.

Cynical notes that Biker’s foot has disappeared.

Biker: And my right arm doesn’t feel quite right.

SolonPol notes that Biker’s right arm is missing.

Biker: And my ____ doesn’t feel quite right either.

Solon Forum gasps in horror.

Bystander: Well, umm, hang in there buddy.

Walley walks in with five dogs, which immediately jump up on Biker.

Walley: Hey, get down, boys … oh, gosh, they’ve eaten half of Biker.

Cynical: Not the dogs.

Walley: What’s going on here???

Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager walks in.

CCIM: Well, it looks grim, it’s time to put him out of his misery.

SolonPol: Wait, what are you talking about???

CCIM: Look, he’s too much trouble, he’s taking up valuable time. He keeps disappearing and coming back, disappearing and coming back. We’ve got better stuff to do. Besides, his health insurance is awful, and we’ve tapped it out.

Biker: That’s OK, I understand. It’s a far, far better place I go to than I have ever been. It’s a far . . .

SolonJoe3 walks in.

Joe: Hey, everyone, what’s up???

SolonPol: They’re going to put Biker down.

Joe: Oh, gosh, that’s not right. Hey, get him a beer first.

CCIM: We don’t allow beer in here.

Joe: I didn’t know the Mormons run this place.

Biker: That’s OK, I think my mouth is disappearing anyway.

Joe: Hey, have you voted yet???

Biker: . . .what???

Joe: Oh, forget it. Hey, since you’re not going to need those pants anymore . . .

SolonBiker dies.

CCIM: Well, thank you for coming, gentlemen. Now, who gets the bill???

Solon Forum Crew quickly disappear into the night.

5640. SolonBiker's Funeral (Part 1)
by SolonHiker, 10/05/12 1:19 PM

Mt. Olive. Early October, 2012. A grey, brooding and blustery day.

SolonPol: We have gathered here to pay our final respects to SolonBiker. He was taken from us too soon. Not by a texting teen in a SUV. Not by a nasty dog and a lousy invisible fence. Not by a side swiping deer/bike collision . . .

Pettiboner: KILL ALL THE DEER!!!!

SolonPol: Please sit back down . . . this is a funeral, not a Council meeting!!! As I was saying, he was taken out by the anonymous Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager . . . and I’d just like to say that I think that’s . . .

Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager cuts in.

CCIM: May I remind you that there are restrictions here, and that any one of you may be deleted, with cause or without, at my sole discretion. SolonBiker was ambitious, and has violated our rules by re-posting deleted posts again and again. He had become an annoyance to us, hence his deletion. I shall leave you here, then, to say a few words about your deleted and departed friend.

Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager exits.

SolonPol: Well, I believe Bystander wants to say a few words.

Bystander:

Friends, Solonites, fellow Forum Characters
Lend me your ears!!!!
I come to bury Biker, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones (and their bikes),
So let it be with Biker … The noble Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager
Hath told you Biker was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Biker answered it …
Here, under leave of Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager and the rest,
(For Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager is an honourable man;
So are they all; all honourable men)

Come I to speak in Biker’s funeral …
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager says he was ambitious;
And Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager is an honourable man….

He hath brought many posts to our Forum,
Whose humor did the hours fill:
Did this in Biker seem ambitious?
When that the poor have had need of healthcare, Biker hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager says he was ambitious;
And Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager is an honourable man.

You all did see that at Home Days
I thrice presented him a kingly carbon fiber steed,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.

I speak not to disprove what Cleveland.com Interactivity Manager spoke,
(As speech hath never been a great friend of his)
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for him?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason…. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Biker,
And I must pause till it come back to me.

5640.1. SolonBiker's Funeral (Part 2)
by SolonHiker, 10/05/12 1:23 PM
Re: SolonBiker's Funeral (Part 1) by SolonHiker, 10/05/12 1:23 PM
Bystander finishes speech, and sits back down.

SolonPol: Thank you Bystander. That was moving . . . and a little long.

SolonJoe3: I’d like to say a few words.

SolonPol: Sure, sure, go right ahead.

Joe opens his coat, revealing a six pack of Miller High Life, he takes a couple gulps and starts.

SolonJoe3: Well, for a lefty, Commie, Socialist, Muslim Apologist Defeatnik, Biker was an OK guy. I drink to Biker!!!

Solon Forum Gang all reach into their jackets and pull out beers to toast Biker.

SolonPol: Well, now we have a few religious words to say about Biker.

Priest: In the name of the Father, and the Son . . .

Bystander: He wasn’t a Christian!!!

Rabbi: God full of mercy . . .

SolonPol: He wasn’t Jewish.

Imam: In the name of Allah . . .

SolonJoe: He wasn’t a Muslim. Wait a minute, I’m not so sure about that one.

A fleet of black limos and SUVs drives in. Out pops Mitt Romney.

SolonPol: You’ve got to be kidding me.

Mitt Romney: I’d like to say a few words.

SolonPol: I don’t think that . . .

Solon Forum Gang drowns out SolonPol: Boo, Boo, let him speak, let him speak!!!

Mitt Romney: As a Mormon Elder (aka Bishop) of long standing, I come here today to bless this marriage and join SolonBiker to SolonSue . . . and to ChagrinFallsChrissy . . . and to BedfordBetty . . . and to TwinsburgTammy . . .and to . . .

SolonPol: This is a funeral, not a wedding.

MittRomney: Oh, yeah, right. Well, in that case, we gather here to posthumously baptize the heathen heretofore known as SolonBiker so that he can join Joseph Smith and our Mormon community in the one true heaven.

Rabbi glares at Mitt Romney, and SolonForum Gang scratch their heads as Mitt Romney drives away in his limo.

SolonPol: Well, what do we do now??? This isn’t going well.

Walley steps up.

Walley: Well, I made some calls and pulled some strings, and they’ll take him.

SolonPol: What are you talking about???

Walley: I got him into Dog Heaven.

Solon Forum Gang sighs in relief.

SolonPol: Well, that concludes our ceremony today, may Biker rest in . . .

A thunderous noise overtakes the proceedings . . . suddenly a team of black helicopters appears over the trees, with the lead chopper landing at Mt. Olive.

Bystander: Is that . . .???

SolonMoreCynical (aka Dick Cheney) steps down from the lead helicopter, wearing a bomber jacket with dark sunglasses . . . and speaks into a Walkie Talkie.

Cynical: OK, team, lower it now.

A large object slowly descends from the rear helicopter over Biker’s grave, revealing a bollard as Biker’s gravestone.

SolonPol: Are you kidding me??? Where did you get that thing from???

SolonJoe3: We bought that bollard. We the taxpayers!!! We bought all of them!!!! Do you know how much we paid for those things??? $500 a pop!!!! For a bollard!!! And we bought 200 of them!!!!

Cynical: OK, Joe, we get the idea. Now finish this thing up so we can go get some beers. Cynical points to a formation of Marines standing ready to deliver a 21 gun salute.

SolonJoe3: FIRE THEM ALL!!!!!

Deleting Speech and Voters

5631.

Deleting Speech and Voters (Take 3)

by SolonBiker, 09/29/12 9:14 AM
Maybe Solon Forum Delete Punk is actually an alter personality of a forum regular. And the forum regular doesn't even know that he's got Solon Forum Delete Punk trapped inside him.

Maybe it's me. Wouldn't that be something.

I'd spend a half hour putting some dumb imagining together, then I'd go get a cup of coffee and suddenly I'd come back, re-read it, and then Solon Forum Delete Punk would jolt to life and wipe it all out.

Commie Socialist Biker, take THAT!!!!!

Actually, Solon Forum Delete Punk is the walking talking personification of today's GOP. If you can't win an argument on the merits, just delete the other side. If you can't convince whole demographics of voters, just remove them from the voter population. How else to read the massive voter-scrubbing efforts in Pennsylvania. The red-alert urgency to not having Sunday voting in Ohio (after we had the biggest turnout in 2008 and none of the fiasco problems that plagued us with minorities standing in line all night in 2004 and (to a lesser extent) 2000. Why, in Pennsylvania, the state GOP couldn't even point to a single instance of the supposed voter fraud which was supposed to be the rationale for the new restrictions, which could scrub one in ten voters. Where's all that GOP/conservative skepticism about adding new laws to the books in this case, where you've got new laws scrubbing millions of potential voters without a shred of evidence supporting such a need???

The nation absolutely must renounce and reject this, and by a wide margin. It's nothing less than the perversion of the democracy we're all supposed to cherish.

And shame on all the GOP voters, who just keep looking the other way and supporting this rancid party no matter how low they go. Until the day comes that the SolonJoe's and SolonMoreCynical's out there can't stand the stench, we won't see this end. It's just amazing how you put up a post, and then literally a few seconds later you come on a piece of news that shows you that, yep, the Corrupticans are really even worse than you thought five seconds ago.

So, as one state after another uses their newfound Tea Party majority legislative and executive branch control to do EVERYTHING in their power to scrub minorities and students off the voter lists ... they're hiring firms to do the very things that they're blaming the other side for. The same thing they did in 2000 and 2004. Hire the dirty trick firms, tell them to push every single margin, then when they get caught claim they had no knowledge of what was being done. This was all exhaustively documented in 2000 and 2004, and here they go again. GOP new national mission to pervert the fundamental transaction of democracy (voting) down to banana republic levels. Right on schedule.

Imho, voter purging as a means of voter suppression is a treasonous act.

God help these gullible people when *they* are considered the RINOs.

----------

First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

Solon Forum Delete Guy

SFDG for short, seems to have honed in on our good buddy SolonBiker and made it his mission to purge the forum of his liberal speech. Rather unAmerican if you ask me. One would hope that good conservatives, even GOOPERs, would have enough patriotism to recognize and respect constitutionally protected free speech. But no, the new new-GOP, near fascist right, only believes in rights for them selves, the other 47 % to 99 % only exist to be of service to the 1 %.

The SFDG takes advantage of the Forum's Inappropriate Post feature by abusing it to auto delete posts it deems too liberal and thus not protected by the 1 percent's constitution.

Sure the Dems have their problems, but consolidating inefficiencies to benefit the few, the rich, the elite, isn't the solution. The odd thing is, if Mitt won, with the help of ignorant GOOPERS who never vote Dem, those same rabid GOP fans will never get any benefits other than the usual lip service.

The GOP is a party that should be put out of it's misery so it doesn't have to stoop so low to cater to the fanatical lunatic fringe. Now the party can't even attract intelligent candidates any more, they get the likes of Jeb's dumber druggy alcoholic brother, an air head Alaskan Governor who doesn't know geography and the most recent Mitt, who can't even run a campaign, let alone a country. In its place should be a mainstream party that can solve problems and have an IQ over 100.

Mitt's got just one thing going for him, he IS NOT BARACK, and that's not saying much at all.

Vote for Mitt Romney... That's all, nothing more, over on the SolonJoe.com site that advertises its the voice of Solon. It's a very infrequently updated site, started at the same time and by the same ISP as the official Paulson mayoral campaign sites.

It's first issue was SolonJoe3's rant against all non-Bob Solon politicians that got joe from SJ1 to SJ3. SolonJoeN admitted that he had access to the site but denies its his.

Then it took on other issues, School Levy Defeat, McDonalds, and now Mitt.

Previously the site had lots of content to backup its issues, now for Romney it has absolutely nothing. I guess its implied that you need to vote for Mitt because he isn't Barck... There's no hint of why Mitt is better, probably because even Mitt doesn't know why, Mitt's running on the vote for me cuz I'm not the other guy, the weakest excuse ever, with hardly any attempt to say why.

I'm sure when SMC and Joe post responses to this non-local issue post that the SFDG (Solon Forum Delete Guy) will be conspicuously absent...

So SolonJoe3, why not contact your former ally at SolonJoe.com and ask him, where's the beef?

Re-Re-Booting the RomneyBot

5620. Re-Re-Booting the RomneyBot (Take 9)
by SolonBiker, 09/27/12 2:38 PM

Hey, Joe, ya out there??? I'm getting tired of re-posting this dumb thing. But I wrote the last half at your special request, and I don't even know if you've seen it because it's been so rapid-fire deleted. Here's my ninth attempt . . .

Rove: It’s not working. The re-boot failed. We’re down 8 in Ohio, and there’s no map that wins without Ohio. We need another re-boot. Where’s that Joe guy????

Campaign Manager: He’s not happy, he says he needs more pay.

Rove: Look, we’ve got Trump, we’ve got the Koch brothers, we’ve got Adelson … tell him he can name his price. We’re talking about the White House!!!

SolonJoe3 and Solon Forum Delete Punk walk in the door.

Joe: Greetings, fellow Corrupticans, what do you need???

Rove: It’s not working, Obama’s increasing his lead. We need another wipe and reload.

Joe: How about if you release his taxes so that . . .

Rove: Not an option, I mean he can’t even fill in his tax return without identifying USA as a foreign country. Can you imagine what’s in the ten years we’re withholding??

Joe: OK, well maybe if he put some detail into his tax plan, I notice 4 trillion in cuts, but I see no specifics about how you’re going to . . .

Rove: Look, that won’t work either, we don’t need political advice, we just need to get this stupid thing working.

Joe: OK, well about my price …

Rove: Name it, the sky’s the limit. What do you need, how many million . . .

Joe: Well, I was wondering if we could maybe upgrade from the lite beer to regular. You know, maybe Miller High Life instead of Miller Lite.

Rove (scratching his head): Yeah, I think we can do that.

Joe: OK, bring in the RomneyBot.

Mitt Romney walks in.

Joe: Wipe and reload, Delete Punk.

Delete Punk: “ “

Joe: OK, let’s see what we’ve got . . .

Joe : Yikes !!!

Rove : Look, we sent it to France during ‘Nam. We could never get its combat program running, so we sent him on a Mormon mission in a French château. We think the French is a virus.

Joe : Delete Punk, get rid of the French.

Mitt Romney : Let Detroit go bankrupt !!!

Joe : Delete Punk, you’re fired !!! Get out of here !!!

Solon Forum Delete Punk exits stage left.

Mitt Romney : I like to fire people who provide me services.

Joe : Does this thing have a mute button ???

Rove : We’ve been looking and looking, but we can’t seem to find one.

Joe : Where did this thing come from ???

Rove : The papers said Mars. Is that in Kansas ??? Some guy who calls himself Marvin the Martian and he . . .

Joe : Hold on.

Joe takes his pants off, grabs a wrench and starts hitting the Romneybot on the head.

Mitt Romney : We won’t let people die of heart attacks in their apartments. We’ll send them to the ER, and they can die there.

Joe : Well, that’s as good as it’s gonna get.

Rove : Well, you’re the miracle worker, that’s for sure. Looks like a winner for sure now.

Joe : Now about my price.

Three cases of Miller High Life get wheeled in.

Joe (putting pants back on) : Great doing business with you.

Joe starts walking out the door.

Joe: But, you know, maybe I could also get …

Rove : We thought you’d never ask … Hold on.

Condi Rice walks out the door, and takes Joe by the arm.

Joe : Well, you know it IS the White House . . .

Rove : Right, right, hold on.

Ann Coulter walks out, takes Joe by the other arm.

Joe: … and we’ve got a Muslim Socialist in the White House . . . .

Rove : OK, OK … you win … bring in the big guns !!!

Condi Rice and Ann Coulter walk out the door, and Sarah Palin walks in . . .

Palin : I hear I’m moving to Solon.

Joe : You betcha !!!!!

Palin : Well, I’m gonna need a variance so that I can still see Russia from my back porch.

Joe : Oh, don’t worry about that, I’ll take care of your back porch.

Mitt Romney: Russia is Public Enemy #1 !!!!

5620. Romney Reboot take 10
by solonjoe3, 09/28/12 10:34 AM

Romney: These darn democratics will stop at nothing to slander my good name!

Joe: I know, I know. It's so unfair.

Romney: Thanks Joe. Here's a thousand dollars.

Joe: Thank you sir.

[SolonBiker rides in on his carbon alloy super cycle. His svelte frame perfectly matches the precise engineering in his Chinese made racer.]

SolonBiker: Joe! How could you? Romney is just rich a-hole.

Joe: Well, you never came through with the Asian twins and he gave me a thousand bucks.

Solonbiker: But I gave Ann Coulter and Sarah Palin.

Joe: Those gals have been ridden a few too many times if you know what I mean. Not that there is anything wrong what. Sure, hanging with experienced gals may be fine for you (I've seen the pictures of you with Pelosi.) But I am vigorous.

SolonPol: Joe what are doing? This post is sure to be taken down by the delete punk.

Joe: Heck, I don't care. I've got me a thousand bucks and I'm gonna buy me a beer truck.

Cheers.

Re: Romney Reboot take 10 by solonjoe3, 09/28/12 2:44 PM

Joe: Why, thanks, RomneyBot. Wow, a thousand bucks!!!! Imagine how much beer I'll be able to buy with that!!!

RomneyBot: Oh, heavens no, Joe. We don't condone of that sort of thing. No, this is for your Medicare. It's a prepay on the coupon we'd like to give you when you're 65 . . .

Paul Ryan: (loudly coughs and clears throat)

RomneyBot: When you're 67 . . .

Paul Ryan: (loudly coughs like a cat spitting up a hairball)

RomneyBot: (weakly) Er, um, when you're 70 . . . (nervously looks at Paul Ryan) . . . Yes, yes, it's a downpayment for your Medicare when you're 70. Now, all you have to do is invest that with a 400,000x return on your investment like I did with my offshore IRAs, and you'll be truly golden in your golden years.

Joe: Why, gosh, I knew there was a reason I always vote for the R team!!!

Bubba's BBroad Ignorance

5481. Bubba's BBroad Ignorance
by bbrdres, 06/09/12 11:37 PM

This is of course in response to post 5476.1.1.2.2 titled ".BBroad Crybabies.." whose outlandish  punctuation gives the author away as bubbaburgers and whose strange posts is only outdone by his total ignorance about the BB Rd project.

This post won't last long so you can find it in a safe place on http://solonpol.blogspot.com/ and of course you can follow the BB Rd project on http://bainbridgeroad.wordpress.com/ which has a sidebar with reference documents, etc.

He says, with his usual punctuational flare "..cash your state check, call a landscaper and have trees planted..pay with state cash and shut up already..!!!!!!!!!!!!.."  Then later accuses Joe of not doing his research.

First, there was no state check, it was a county project, that outsourced real estate issues to OR Colan (a private company) who low balled the 150+ residents so the county could issue the lowest compensation possible.

If Bubba was paying attention, to my posts or my blog, he'd know that the average OR Colan offer was $100 per mature tree over 20 ft and smaller trees were offered less.

What do you think a 20 ft tree costs to buy and install?  More than $100 maybe?

Bubba please enlighten us on a what we can get with all that cash from your landscaper.

As for "shutting up", that's just what local govt would like, and what nearly everyone on BB Rd did, they STFU because everyone knows you can't fight city hall.

Well a few of us didn't know that, so we formed an LLC, pooled money, put our own experts on retainer and we tried to fight the county first on the unnecessary million dollar temp road that the city requested and will most likely have to pay for in the future.

We were surprised the county didn't care but the city (former law director Matty) raced in to demand the wasteful road...  Why?

The city promised to help restore property damaged by THEIR temp road, but that same law director proffered an illegal agreement that our lawyers insisted we could not sign.

In court the county tried to blame the city and the jury was not too happy with that stunt nor the invalid city contract that was admitted into evidence (Call me Lobe).

When a dozen people raised issues with the low estimates, the county spent THOUSANDS of dollars per case on outsourced experts to prevent fair compensation as state law requires, rather than offer that money as a good faith counteroffer.  When we won our first case where it was proven in court that OR Colan low balled residents and where a jury decided the proper compensation should be much higher, the county appealed the case, spending thousands more but offering the residents nothing.  When they lost the appeal they took their sweet time cutting the checks.  Some residents are still waiting for their compensation.

When govt wants to abuse its residents, it is only the brave and perseverant who stand up for the betterment of ALL CITIZENS.  Be glad there were a few brave people who called the govt on their misdeeds while others (like you Bubba) languished blissfully in their ignorance.

BTW Bubba, did you know this free project has cost the city over $1.2M so far?  If you did your research before you opened your big mouth, you'd know that.

So Bubba, I'd like to tell YOU to just ...$%^@ S .. T .. F .. U .. !!@$

SolonPol is no more

My posting to the Cleveland Solon Forum has come to an abrupt end... I made many politically charged statements under the screen name of SolonPol and for that I received criticism, threats, post deletions, personal info released on the web, emails from city officials, etc When harassed I stood up and fought back calling people who wanted their privacy but were invading mine out for who they were... Apparently the Plain Dealer thought it better to get rid of one rabble rouser than all the people harassing him for speaking up on political issues. This is truly a democracy in action, the masses have voted and I lost. No good deed goes unpunished, we can see that today.

5156. SolonPol is no more
by bbrdres, 02/12/12 5:38 PM

Check it out, every single post and my ID are gone from the Solon Community Forum http://www.cleveland.com/forums/solon/index.ssf , just happened in the last hour. Probably this one (BBRdRes) too will be gone very soon... Good riddens, Joe and others stifled everything I said anyway.

But isn't it grand to live in a country that values free speech so much that it allows harassment and name calling for some and just completely silences others...

I'm not talking about deleting a few posts where I call my harassers names, I'm talking about EVERY SINGLE POST I'VE EVER MADE, even friendly posts, chit chat posts, etc. EVERYTHING!

NO WARNING, no notice, poof scorched Earth, posting one hour, ID AND ALL POSTS gone the next, on a Sunday no less.

God Bless America, because it sure needs it as fouled up as it is.

off of this forum, for speaking his mind, for defending his rights, for being unpopular for both sticking up for and criticizing the current admin. He didn't joke, he didn't whine, he seriously wanted better for Solon, he didn't fit in.

His reward, banishment from the forum! That will teach anyone here to seriously talk of politics.

Wait, is bbrdres = SolonPol?? They disappeared SolonPol??? What in the world is going on here?? I would have to think this is a correctable error.

Re: SolonPol is no more by bbrdres, 02/12/12 6:12 PM
FREE SPEECH isn't really free, never has been, never will be!

Yes its me, I have 2 IDs, BBRdRes which I haven't used much since the election and SolonPol which has been banished for pissing off the trolls and the city.

But using a new ID, right after being banished is a good way to get it deleted too. They've sent me a none to subtle message and I'm not as dumb as LL who continues to harass despite being asked to stop. This isn't the forum asking, this is them demanding.

It takes a lot to get a permanent ban and deletion, ask Joe, he's 3 for a reason, he used to be SolonJoe1. Seriously Joe, I'd like some advice on how it went down with you, did you get a blanket delete of everything or is that a new feature of this updated forum?

So Biker and Wally, I've enjoyed our chats, but I am officially persona non-grata here. You know my web site http://solonpol.blogspot.com/ and my email solonpol at gmail dot com... But here on the Solon Community Forum, I've been run out of town...

Creepy isn't funny

5150. Creepy isn't funny
by SolonPol, 02/11/12 3:31 PM

not if you are the target of creepiness.

So Joe, back off Toni a bit, and Russo, please, that's just stomach turning.

The first 2-3 times LL asked that question at the exact same time something was going on at city hall that I was attending, some of it on TV. Could be a coincidence, but its nice if LL is actually being a couch potato politician rather than watching some even dumber reality show on TV.

When that didn't work surewoodi comes up with a threat out of the blue (hasn't posted anything for months) relating to my divorce case number, notdrucker, part of the original threat two years ago "piles on" (despite BSer denying it as if it wasn't a fact) after being non-existent since the election, clearly an alternate anonymous ID, just like the SolonPol ID was supposed to be. So these hypocrites can take "hit and run shots" and maintain their free speech and privacy WHILE DENYING MINE. These are the same people (surewoodi and notdrucker) who were complaining about Drucker posts and supporting Bob. This is why I accuse his supporters of being dirty, none of Druckers took any personal shots at Bob's supporters, only at Bob.

But what's the point. The creepiness factor went up when I bucked the trend here and argued successfully in some cases about Sally's firing. Everyone wants to criticize Drucker for firing this deadwood AWOL stunt maker and I argued against it. I was exercising MY FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AND WAS BEING PENALIZED FOR DOING SO. This happens when ever I start winning an unpopular argument. If I'm fighting for something pro-admin the creeps (that supported Bob) come out with my personal info, if I'm fighting for something against the admin the censors come out and take it off the site.

I CAN'T WIN, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY I CAN'T EXERCISE MY RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN. THAT SHOULD BOTHER EVERYONE.

EVERYONE HERE SHOULD CONDEMN THAT IN THE STRONGEST WAY POSSIBLE, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T, THE NEXT VICTIM OF IT WILL BE YOU!

So seriously Joe, I stick up for your views that I don't always agree with, I repost them on my blog after the city deletes them because I believe in the principal of free speech, heck I even offer you your own vehicle to do the same since your name sake website doesn't do that anymore. The offer still stands, I don't have to know who you are, we can do it by email, I'll make it easy and teach you how to update it yourself.

THAT'S HOW STRONGLY I BELIEVE IN FREE SPEECH, SO GIVE ME A LITTLE SUPPORT WHEN THESE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO TAKE MINE AWAY. THIS FORUM SHOULD BAND TOGETHER AND CHASE THESE PEOPLE AWAY, NOT FOR ME, BUT FOR WHAT THEY MIGHT DO TO ALL OF YOU SOMEDAY IF THEY DON'T LIKE YOU WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY.

Censorship at its absolute worst...

or what happened at City Hall the last two days

From 1:00 am to 3:30 am I posted this list of posts, by 8:30am they were all deleted...

5136.1. Censorship at its absolute worst...
by SolonPol, 02/09/12 10:30 AM
Re: Very sad... by bystander75, 02/09/12 10:30 AM

So this forum kept surewoodi's threat to intimidate me and violate the forum rules, but very swiftly deleted my commentary on city hall actions. This is a new record, usually it takes city hall at least 12 hours to respond, this time they not only responded in less than 5 hours, but did it before 9am. We have an early riser at city hall. I see they left surewoodi's threat but deleted my response to it.

So what got it pulled? THERE WERE NO UNTRUE STATEMENTS, THERE WAS NO MOCKING OF PUBLIC OFFICIALS, THERE WAS JUST THE SAD SAD TRUTH ABOUT WHAT WENT ON AT CITY HALL FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS.

Well BSer, I'm glad you read it and liked it. For the rest of you, well it will be reposted to my own blog far beyond the reach of local politicians to interfere with, and if you don't like, just talk to me about solving the issues I raised and I'll be happy to report that too. Thanks to this forums buggy nature I composed all the posts on Notepad++ and pasted the rough draft into this forum.

See for all the "in the Mayor's hip pocket" crap I get, I'm really just a balanced reporter who often has a differing view from the masses. But when I am critical of city hall, they notice and respond quickly.

Here's a summary of what I said... And Joe you are going to have to go to the URL that I'll post here soon to read it since I can't keep posting it here every few hours only to have it deleted. But take it from BSer, when he says its a must read, its gotta be true...

5136. Wed at City Hall

Here's a run down of what I learned at city hall today. Most of it from the Safety Meeting, some of it from conversations. Should I write this post or bow to intimidation of cowardly chickenshits who want to intimidate me?

5136.2 Deer Killing

The police chief said that only 3 shooters are active in Solon, so on any given day 20 of the sites aren't active. The Patch's list is slightly smaller than the older list on the SolonDeer sites because several kill sites were dropped.

The same guns and silencers are being used as White Buffalo used, but the Feds (USDA WS) are using standard ammo, White Buffalo used a hand packed lighter load ammo, just strong enough to bring down a deer, but with less power than standard ammo.

The part time semi retired Hromco is in charge of all notification issues. Supposedly all adjacent properties to a kill site are to be notified each time killing is done.

5136.3 Public Records

I noticed that the LPV site is no longer listed for archive videos, any meeting video before Sept 2011 is no longer available online. IF you know which video you want you can buy it from city hall for $3 per meeting. Previously 2 full years of video were online.

Meeting minutes used to be available from 2005, now there is only one year listed, with 2 years possible if you search for it. The search process has some inconsistency, its one of many new web site issues that I'll be reporting to the city.

This is hard to understand given that these records are already stored electronically and only use a modest amount of storage.

Yesterday at the financial budget meetings the director talked about our huge amount of paper records and associated storage costs. He will be proposing a more aggressive records retention schedule. He also discussed a major challenge in scanning city records, apparently there is a huge backlog in the process.

5136.4 Police Dept Bldg troubles

The 12 yo building has some major HVAC problems for some time now. Parts of the building can't be heated in the winter and drop to under 60 degrees. Another problem occurred with the air conditioning in the server room. The committee approved an RFQ for a consultant to analyze and recommend an HVAC solution.

At yesterdays Finance Meeting they announced police dispatch software is incompatible with the new phone system so $18K is being budgeted to replace it.

5136.5 Historic Homes

An architect reviewed the condition of the historic buildings on BB Rd, the Solon Historical Society, the Lynch House, and the Bull House. The Mayor reported safety violations in the Historical Society building that she corrected immediately since the building is open to the public. Other issues are awaiting action of the Safety and Public Properties Committee. It was mentioned that these costs were very large, one set of costs for safety was large, but the cost to open the buildings involved accessibility and current building code issues was even larger.

Kraus said that our long term plans should not include the city owning the Lynch and Bull houses. Russo pointed out that we have to weigh and justify the future usage of the homes with the cost. The Mayor pointed out that the previous Master Plan's idea to build an amphitheatre there is no longer. See http://bettersolon.blogspot.com/search/label/MasterPlan

In similar news the red home at the Community Park is city owned and has water leaking and safety hazards. The committee approved the demolition of the building, it will be done by the city's service dept for considerably less money than a private contractor. The garage will remain for now. The Mayor mentioned the Master Plan, being the only citizen to attend all meetings (those appointed didn't), I don't recall any such discussion.

5136.6 Aurora Rd

An overview of the Aurora Rd intersection was given at the end of the meeting in a last minute revision of the agenda. It was discussed about 43 min in and will be fully presented next month.

This is a new traffic study which contradicts but doesn't supersede the unpublished (as yet after 1 year of requests) the Master Plan Traffic Study, adopted as Chapter 23, but most recently the online version http://solonohio.org/index.aspx?nid=272 has removed all chapter headings to make it more readable because of missing chapters (which still exist today after the committee has stopped regular meetings)
See http://bettersolon.blogspot.com/2011/03/master-plan-feb-10.html or http://bettersolon.blogspot.com/search/label/MasterPlan

The MasterPlan called Aurora Rd the most immediate problem. Now that Geauga Lake is closed, traffic is better, but that property will not remain undeveloped. The new traffic study recognizes that but doesn't seem to have a long term solution. Several ideas were discussed, intersection by intersection from SOM to the county line.

One big possibility is to take away the bike lanes used by bikes, pedestrians and mail trucks and restripe the road to three lanes, one in each direction and a left turn lane so traffic isn't impeded by those stopping to make left turns.

5136.7 Stop dodging me Eddie

Geez, three days in a row. I told you I've got stuff on my mind, you're my councilman, and we need to talk. Is this avoidance technique what got Joe started? Funny after you dodged me yesterday your former opponent called to discuss these items... And you couldn't remember who he was? Didn't you see his sign on my front yard or that we were talking Monday night?

Come on Eddie, if you're going to be Mayor ya need to start paying attention to the squeaky wheels in the city. Call me or email me...

5136.8 Give Me a Break

Horse Crossing
Didn't write this item that night

Postscript / Updates

Called Eddie at lunch, we had a nice conversation about opportunities to improve Solon Govt, we agreed that the city web site/transparent govt and the MasterPlan were two specific areas in need of large improvements.

It's about fair fighting...

I think BSer is a little sensitive, just mentioning him shouldn't garner that level of name calling, but I can just chalk that one up. I get more irritated at the ID guessing game, and I'm sure that you Joe can appreciate just how important being anonymous is. If city hall ever discovers who you really are, well, you probably have to move out of the city, if not the county.

But consider this, while you all remember my defense of this administration, I've been critical here too, despite city hall knowing who SolonPol is. I know this because I've been contacted by various people in govt, within 24 hours of a critical post.

I started posting as BBRdRes and everyone knew who I was. When I wanted to branch to other topics I posted under another ID to be anonymous, a luxury you all enjoy. But after being extremely critical, people here couldn't help themselves but to VIOLATE the forum rules and try to determine my IRL ID. BSer chides me even today, years later, by tying my public BB Rd work to my current ID. We had lots of fights about this, and to your credit Joe, you still stand up for what is right, despite some strong disagreements we've had.

But knowing who someone is IRL is one thing, talking about it here is another. Asking where I am when they see me on TV at city hall is edging toward creepy. But doing background checks on me, citing court cases, traffic tickets, etc, telling me when my bike is parked outside my home or not is JUST TOO FAR, ITS BEYOND CREEPY, ITS GETTING TO BE STALKING...

AND STILL IT DOES NOT END THERE... When I'm making a strong argument, especially if I'm winning it, OUT COMES THE PERSONAL INFO, a not very veiled attempt to STIFLE MY FREE SPEECH, TO INTIMIDATE, TO HARASS.

WHY!!! WTF!!! WHO DO THESE CHICKENSHITS THINK THEY ARE -- PRESERVING THEIR PRIVACY AND FREE SPEECH WHILE DENYING ME MINE!

ITS BULLSHIT PLAIN AND SIMPLE, PERPETRATED BY COWARDLY ASSHOLES!

NOTE:  this is the uncensored version that couldn't be posted...

5078. Question
by solonjoe3, 01/26/12 9:21 AM

In principle, what the difference between bribing Jimmy Dimora with sexual favors to get a job and bribing our current mayor with a promise to drop out of the race and hire the old mayor’s secretary?

[Joe's] Answer: Nothing. In both situations the public gets screwed.

5078.4. Answer
by SolonPol, 01/26/12 1:15 PM
Re: Question by solonjoe3, 01/26/12 1:15 PM

Brace yourself, you won't like it. But read it with an open mind, it is logical, just call me Spock. And if you still don't like my post, just remember that without my contrarian views to spark conversation, you guys would be just reading quotes of stupid comedy channel programs like South Park, just call me spice for the forum.

First, there's the evidence, Jimmy was on tape, lots of tape, Susan's situation is for the most part speculation, lots of it. And not "fair and balanced speculation" but whacko conspiracy theory speculation only found in Roswell, NM.

For Sally we have Joe's wild speculations and exaggeration, stretching what would never pass as "judicial evidence" to new wild fantasy. Bribery with something of little value (endorsement = 1/20 cent), then he switches the briber and bribee. Susan bribed Kevin for an endorsement? Why, when she supposedly had all her "dirty tricks", none of which compared to Bob's. And then saying that Susan got Patton to leave the race, oh please, it was the allure of the Mentor city manager job where no one knew Kevin's weaknesses. Next we'll hear that Susan talked Scott into running as Bob's spoiler, PULEASE!

But the real issue is of parity, Susan giving current employees "a chance" doesn't even come close to Jimmy's whores and payola for jobs. For Jimmy, we have all the sorid details on tape complete with F bombs and anatomical descriptions. For Susan all we have is a supposed conversation where Patton asks Susan to give his people a chance rather than the customary swinging of the ax the first day. Was this a bribe? Or even a favor? My candid council conversations of the time uncovered some councilman who would have OBJECTED to a mass house cleaning, who were concerned with the small changes she made early on.

So Patton may have ASKED Susan to CONSIDER giving some people a chance. And she did! But in the end, the IT Director, the Law Director, and the personal asst didn't pass muster and were replaced.

Was there a better way to handle this, would it have been cleaner to have a mass execution day one? Probably... But in the end, Susan is no Jimmy, just look at the pictures of the two of them, one is very very large.

My prediction

They'll be lots of saber rattling, canon ball shooting and genital measurements, but when its all said and done, there will be a settlement out of court, NO ONE wants a jury trial, not Susan, not Sally.  The judge won't dismiss it based on the city's answer.

And Sally won't walk away empty handed and that means you and I will be paying ransom for a person who got pissed, went AWOL, blackmailed the city and tarnished our image.  And to me, regardless of how the city handled things, I'm more pissed at the blackmailer.

If you or I pulled that shit, we'd be out in the cold, no one would be feathering our nests, I just want public employees to be treated the same as the private sector, and in the private sector NO ONE is guaranteed a job for life.

NOTE: Response posted here because Solon Forum flagged language even after "genital" and "pissed" were removed...

422 guard rails

FIRST DRAFT - will be updated...

Short answers in RED followed by in depth sequence of events...

http://www.cleveland.com/forums/solon/index.ssf?artid=40667

4962.1.2. Hey SolonPol, is this what happened?
by solonjoe3, 11/22/11 2:19 PM
Re: Reconsidering 422 guard rails by SolonPol, 11/22/11 2:19 PM

The city says to ODOT, “Hey buds, how about some guardrails.” (or did ODOT just do it on its own?)

ODOT to the City, “Sure, we can do that. Here are the plans.”

NOT SURE IF THEY OFFERED PLANS!

City to ODOT ”hey, those guard rails are kinda close to the road.”

NO, RESIDENTS NOTICED AND COMPLAINED FIRST.

ODOT “Yeah, too expensive to put further away from the road. ”

(Could the city have ponied up the extra cash to put it further away from the road? Was that an option?)

City “Ok”

Guardrails get put up.

Council “Hey, these new guard rails are too close. Let’s complain to ODOT”

ONLY AFTER RESIDENTS COMPLAINED AND IT WAS ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE SOLON TIMES.

Russo “Not so fast. I don’t want to make ‘em mad.”

Rest of council “Let’s talk about it at the next council mtg.”

REST OF SAFETY, JUST TO SOOTHE RUSSO'S RUFFLED FEATHERS.

Guy get killed. Guardrails may or may not be a contributing cause.

City pulls the item from agenda while it figure out what it wants to do.

THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO, IT WAS DECIDED IN CAUCUS.

Is the above right? ODOT didn’t just put up the guardrails w/o consulting westbrooks et al, right? Or does ODOT just do things without asking?

NOT EXACTLY!

Cheers.

==================== And here's the answer ...

Not exactly!

The city, specifically I believe Shaw, has been asking for guardrails in the center to prevent cross over accidents for quite some time.  They don't happen often, but of course they are serious when they do.

One time, ODOT said OK, we'll do them for free ........  and who knows how much anyone heard after that, knowing what a sucker politicians are for "free" stuff,  after all that's how we got our "free" million dollar temp road.  Hopefully no one notices that the city requested that...

The city did know in advance that ODOT was going to do them differently than requested, it was discussed at the Safety meeting.  It's not clear whether ODOT just described the differences or whether they provided the city with plans.  I'd guess that if the city asked for details or the plans that they'd probably get them.

Looking carefully at other rails, there are some that are close to the road.  BUT, living in this city for some time and travelling that road I know I've seen lots of cars in the center snow drifts and it doesn't take a rocket scientist or a Harvard lawyer to wonder what fate those cars will have with guardrails, no matter how close they are to the road.

ODOT did say they couldn't put them in the center because there is drainage under the center.  I'm not sure if they discussed the closeness or the reason in advance.  At some point they started adding a foot of pavement and marking the posts.  This is when any passing motorist knew they were going to be close.

At some point ODOT explained that they were not further from the road because the road side would need to be regraded and that would cost extra money.

While its "their road" and they don't have to get others input, I'd like to think that if Solon wanted to enhance the project at their own expense that they'd do it.

IT WAS NOT council who discovered the problem, it wasn't our crack road experts on the city payroll, IT WAS residents who wrote letters to council, just like BB Rd, just like Pepper Dr, just like the $2.3 M road rip off years ago.

One wonders if all these road problems are discovered by residents for free, well what are the experts supposed to be doing?  Well I guess they do something beneficial but construction monitoring doesn't seem to be included.

So AFTER several letters, and AFTER the front page of the Solon Times, Toni wanted it added to the agenda.  Russo said NO, he wanted it referred to Safety.  After all he had dealt with the issue at the previous meeting, he asked his leading questions, he got his expert answers to trump the insignificant public, what more was needed?

So it WAS NOT put on the council agenda.  At the end of Council, during the roundtable, Toni pulled a tactical move, she raised the issue, she made the motion, and it was immediately seconded (this doesn't happen accidentally, its almost always by advance collusion).  There was some hesitation, she reminded the chair there was an active motion on the floor, Roberts Rules dictate a vote must be done.  And it was, 6-0.

When Russo returned he was not to pleased about this slick maneuver and added the 422 rails to the Safety agenda.  He was so anxious that he couldn't wait until the end of the meeting so he moved it up to the top of the  Other Topics agenda.

Russo tried to override council, Bell let him huff and puff, then reminded him twice, it was at council, it was voted on, Russo lost.

Still he was not dissuaded and wrote a letter to the clerk making a "referral" which appeared on the agenda as a "reconsideration" (that is to repeal the letter).

ODOT has jurisdiction over 422, they can do what they want.  But politics being politics and influence being a political commodity, there are always alternatives, there can always be deals made.

Unlike the popular BB Rd refrain, NO ONES HANDS ARE REALLY TIED!

Then there was a terrible accident, and these guard rails were involved.  No one will ever know what would have happened for sure without them.

So in caucus, off camera, the agenda is discussed.  Russo wanted no letter, council voted on the letter, no one wanted to have a discussion on camera.  So a deal was made, let Westbrooks write a "professional and cooperative" letter, and the item will be removed from the agenda.

SO a letter will be written, and ODOT and the Gov will get it, file it, and likely take no action.

Its all in tactical moves, and the art of the deal...

What's so hard to understand?

Yes I speak at city hall, on TV and in print media, so what, challenge me on what I said, disagree in a civil manner as SolonJoe3 often does, fine.

But that doesn't give people the right to harass me, misuse my copyrighted photo to put on a female body in homoerotic position with another person, drive by my house in a menacing manner, dig into my personal life and publish details. And why does this happen, because I disagee with Bob and say so, because an outside interloper disagrees with me so he deems my opinions and statements as lies. He demands proof from me, but offers none in return, he's the might BSer and it's tru simply because he says so.

This all started because Joe said Susan practices dirty tricks, he claims that Drucker or her supporters attacked Bob about his felony record. Joe doesn't say much about how Bob and his supporters attacked Susan on her ties to the Dem machine. Joe considers that OK because it's "true" (BSer logic). But why isn't it OK to bring up Bob's felony, its true too. Maybe he thinks Bob's felony was exaggerated, well so are Susan's ties, otherwise she'd be in jail.

My contention is Bob's dirty tricks are worse and I think the abuse I received with one small mention of Bob proves that point. Show me how anyone else on this forum has been ridiculed so viciously by so many IDs in such a short time for criticizing Susan... YOU CAN'T, so I rest my case, it has been PROVEN BEYOND ALL DOUBT that Bob and/or his supporters are much more vicious.

BSer will say he doesn't support Bob, but he can't explain his violent reaction to my mere mention of Bob's name, nor can he explain all the time he spent caputuring images from copyrighted sources and creating at least 6 videos to harass me.  There is an easy explanation, that he is the liar.  Again PROVEN BEYOND ALL DOUBT.

Why did I post this, because BSer asked for proof.

SOLONJOE'S TAKE ON THE WARD 5 VACANCY

In Joe's spirit of "Summer of Love" and in view of his falling out with his namesake website, I thought I'd bring back what the censors took away...

4457.2. The debate?
by solonjoe3, 01/24/11 9:25 AM
Re: Ward 5 council applicants by SolonMoreCynical, 01/24/11 9:25 AM

McDrucker: This is a tricky business.

Kraus: I don’t envy you. No matter what you do, somebody is going to be mad

McDrucker: I could just let you guys on council decide.

Kraus: Well, even if you do, the applicants themselves will never believe you were hands off.

McDrucker: Let’s think about this logically. If I give it to Meany, she’ll vote in accordance with my wishes. Tom Day said I *could* pick her too. She’ll probably get reelected when the time comes. Some people will make fun of her lack of wherewithal. But so what. Call her the safe choice.

Kraus: All those things are true.

McDrucker: If I give it to Floyd, my debt will be repaid. He probably won’t be too much trouble. But he’ll have a hard time getting reelected.

Kraus: Why do you say that?

McDrucker: I don’t know if Solon is ready for a black council person yet. We are ready for an Asian council person yes. We are ready for a light skinned Hispanic so long as there is no accent. Heck, we may even be ready for Jewish one.

Kraus: I’m Jewish.

McDrucker: No, I’m not talking about your type. I was talking about full on Hebrew. But a black councilman in Solon, I’m not sure how it would work.

Kraus: How so?

McDrucker: For one thing, would we need to get another bathroom for instance?

Kraus: I don’t think so. We’re not Parma.

McDrucker: And what will the cops think?

Kraus: We’ll just put his picture up in the cop’s lounge along with a description of his car so they won’t pull him over any longer.

McDrucker: I don’t know. Maybe we should just go with one of the other candidates....

4457.2.1. An interview?
by solonjoe3, 01/24/11 10:53 AM
Re: Ward 5 council applicants by SolonMoreCynical, 01/24/11 10:53 AM

Unnamed Council Person(UCP): Your name is Floyd, right?

Floyd: That’s correct.

UCP: And you’re a lawyer.

Floyd: Right again.

UCP: And you’re friends with Bill Mason.

Floyd: I worked alongside him for many years.

UCP: And you’re black.

Floyd: Excuse me?

UCP: I asked if you know Eddie and Rick?

Floyd: Didn’t sound like that is what you said. Yes, I know Councilman Kraus and Bell very well. They are excellent attorneys.

UCP: Hardly.

Floyd: What was that?

UCP: I agree heartedly. Will your law practice allow you enough time to be fully engaged with your council duties?

Floyd: I have plenty of time.

UCP: No surprise there.

Floyd: What?

UCP: I said I’m glad to hear it. What do think about opera?

Floyd: Opera?

UCP: yes, opera.

Floyd: Not really a fan.

UCP: Figures.

Floyd: What? I keep hearing you mutter things. What’s that all about?

UCP: That’s a paranoid question. Do you want me to put paranoid down here on this interview sheet? No? I didn’t think so. One more question: Do you think black qualifies as an earth-tone color?

Floyd: Earth-tone? Black? I suppose.

UCP: You would. Thanks. We’ll let you know.

4457.2.1. All these posts are ephemeral
by solonjoe3, 01/25/11 9:16 AM
Re: Ward 5 council applicants by SolonMoreCynical, 01/25/11 9:16 AM

Worked hard? Hardly.

I've noticed if I post anything that makes the mayor look like a racist like reminding folks of how badly she handled the police pointing a gun at 12 year old black girl running to her mother at church, well, someone from city hall has the post yanked. Given that history, I think its fair game to parody the mayor's racial insensitity.

Here in another ward 5 interview-- about as the lame the other two that were taken down:

Interview Team (IT): Please take a seat miss….

Meany: Meany. Ms. Meany.

IT: Yes, Ms. That’s delightfully liberated of you. Are you a liberated girl?

Meany: Woman. I don’t go overboard, but yes I think of myself as an independent and liberated woman.

IT: Do you wear a bra?

Meany: I don’t think that’s any of your business.

IT: We don’t see why not? It’s perfectly ordinary question. It effects your look and as well says something about your need to flaunt the conventions of decent society. So we ask again, do you wear a bra?

Meany: Er, sometimes. Like when it’s muddy out.

IT: There. No that wasn’t hard. Muddy out? How charming? A problem with sagging? Is that what it’s about it? Is one lower than the other?

Meany: I fail understand why any of this is relevant. I don’t suppose you asked the men about their body parts.

IT: Oh, but we did. You can learn a lot about a person from their body parts. Would you like us to explain why?

Meany: No.

IT: Good. We like people without any natural curiosity. They make such could council members. Tell us, where do you summer?

Meany: Summer? Sometimes we go the Carolinas and rent a house on the beach.

IT: We? Who else is in the we? Do you have a fella? A special someone to while away the days?

Meany: I’m having a hard time understanding why any of these questions are pertinent as whether I’m qualified to get the appointment.

IT: Your perfectly right. These questions are just a way to show we’ve talked to you. We could have all just say peas and carrots, peas and carrots for 5 minutes. But then we have manners. And by the way, you’re not qualified, not that that matters. It’s actually rare we appoint someone who is qualified.

Meany: Is it already decided then?

IT: We don’t know. The mayor will tell us in time who we picked.

Meany: I see. Thank you for interview.

Bell: Ok, I just talked to the mayor. We’re on our own this time. No orders from downtime. No instructions from the mayor. None of them want their fingers on this decision.

Russo: What does that mean? Them?

Pelunis: It means they want us to take the backlash for not picking Floyd.

Mooney: Why wouldn’t we pick Floyd?

Richmond: He’s a lawyer.

Kraus: We’re all lawyers. We can’t use that excuse.

Russo: I’m not.

Mooney: You’re not what?

Kraus: yeah, sorry. I keep forgetting Russo’s not a lawyer. It’s just that he acts like one.

Russo: What’s that supposed to mean?

Kraus: you know, act like you know better than everybody else even if you haven’t a clue.

Richmond: Gentleman, back to the task at hand. What are we going to do?

Bell: Let me lay it out. We can’t pick Floyd because he’s a…. how shall I put…. I’m not a racist or anything, but he’s a NAACP lawyer. We can’t have NAACP lawyer on council. Look, we all hire lots of friends and family in Solon.

Mooney: So?

Bell: So all our friends and family are white. He’s gonna notice.

Pelunis: But if we don’t pick him, he’ll come charging in, calling us racists.

Russo: How do we know that?

Bell: They always do.

Mooney: “They?” Look, I don’t think we should be having this conversation. There is nothing wrong with Floyd. He worked for Mason. He’s a democrat. He’s smart. I say we pick him.

Pelunis: If that’s what they wanted, they would have told us. Because they didn’t tell us, it’s clear that’s not what they want.

Richmond: Which “they” are you talking about now?

Bell: He’s talking about downtown.

Russo: The ghetto?

Bell: No, you idiot. Look, let’s just pick Meany. We all know she’s an airhead, but they’ll blame it on the Mayor.

Russo: Which “they” is it this time?

Mooney: The public. I’ll admit the public is pretty gullible. I’m shocked they haven’t figured out what really went down at the corner of SOM and Miles. Or that they bought that story about the temporary road.

Bell: They are pretty stupid all right.

Russo: Quit using “they”.
